The vision
The gatekeepers of what gets made, what gets read, and what gets remembered are accountable to profit margins and commercial viability. We exist to build something new. Self-publishing has a reputation it doesn't deserve. We intend to change that.
Parquet publishes work that has something to say — in whatever form that takes. We are not interested in what is selling. We are interested in what is true, what is difficult, and what goes unquestioned. Our catalog is small because we only publish things we believe in completely.
The company
Parquet Publishing House is an independent press founded in Portland, Oregon. It is currently the publishing home of author Samuel Oliver.
We are not open to submissions at this time. That will change.
